ordinary cream instead of soured cream?

I;m busy makin beef straganoff and don't have enough soured cream, can i make up the rest of the quantity with ordinary cream? It'l be about half the amount. Tia

It will make it taste very different. You can create sour cream by squeezing a bit of lemon juice into normal cream (I think)

yes to the lemon juice to make normal cream sour. You can do the same with semi skimmed milk to make it like buttermilk (for soda bread etc)

I've added lemon juice to normal cream and it worked well (used it for fajitas). Make it up prior to adding, then you'll know if you've got the mix right.
