We have Tesco's own one, cost £10 I think. Tis fab!

Squishabelle · 18/11/2009 19:06

Ive got three (different sizes). I really dont think there's much difference (if any) between cheap and expensive.

Kbear · 18/11/2009 19:09

I bought mine in Comet for £20 - it's their own brand (might be Currys actually!! can't remember) anyway, it is fab, works a treat, I use it at least three times a week. No need to spend lots on them.

Watching with interest too as I've asked DH to get me one for Christmas. And they say romance is dead

weegiemum · 18/11/2009 20:07

Romance isn't dead! I've asked for a new hand blender myself!

moocowme · 18/11/2009 20:49

i think bigger is better in this case. oh and have a look at how easy it would be to clean, mine tho nice has a sort of a lip and can be a little tricky to get the hot food out. but i still use it about every second night in the colder months.

midnightexpress · 18/11/2009 20:54

I've got a Tefal one and it is most marvellous because it doubles as a steamer and a rice cooker. In fact, I use the rice cooker more than the slow cooker and now have perfectly cooked rice every time. It sits there nice and warm waiting for you to get everything ready.

onadietcokebreak · 18/11/2009 21:00

I have the Tesco one which is perfectly fine. However if I could have a difference one this is the one I would love.

programmable crock pot

YanknCock · 18/11/2009 21:01

I've got the same Tefal 4-in-1 thingy as midnightexpress, and I adore it. Still haven't managed to use the steaming or porridge making functions, but use the rice cooking and slow cooking loads. Love that it has a keep warm function!

Mcdreamy · 18/11/2009 21:03

I have that crockpot onadietcokebreak, it's ok the only thing that annoys me about it is the pot itself isn't very strong and it chips very easily. Have had some lovely meals from it though!

OmicronPersei8 · 18/11/2009 21:08

I've got a rice-cooker on its last legs and was just looking at that Tefal 4-in-1 slowcooker, it looks ace. I think it's going on my Christmas wishlist...

onadietcokebreak · 18/11/2009 21:14

Thanks Mcdreamy. I thought it looks strong so thats good to know. Plus you can use it on the hob to brown first can't you?

Mcdreamy · 18/11/2009 21:17

yes you can but it's not as good as a frying pan, doesn't seem to get as hot (could be my shit MOD supplied cooker) so I tend not to use it for that.

BonjourIvresse · 19/11/2009 10:38

Thank you for your feedback. I'm going to et a big one so that I can make big portions and freeze half. Any other recommendations welcome, i'm going to send an email tonight with my prefered choices ;-)
