Refusing milk at 16 months

I've already posted about my LO's tricky eating phase but now he's refusing his bottle of am and pm milk as well. It has only happened today but I don't know if it is about the milk or the bottle (if the bottle then all well and good but it seems not as he won't take a beaker either) He just whacked the bottle away this morning, laid on the floor and had a huge paddy! This evening he just shook his head when offered it.
I just wondered if anyone else had come across this before. He's going through a very bad eating phase with me - for example, he'll refuse food completely or eat his cereal with my spoon out of my bowl only (looks very funny with a huge metal spoon but if it goes in I don't care!) so I don't know if this is connected. He's eating fine at nursery - as usual! Any ideas?

ds hasn't drunk milk (bottle or cup) since I stopped breastfeeding at 15 months. Actually tell a lie - he will occasionally have a few sips. I have tried everything - he just doesn't really like milk.

I don't worry about it though - he has milk on his cereal and 2-3 yoghurts a day (or sometimes cheese). He's 18 months now and seems OK! He still plays up and refuses food sometimes but again, he's OK. I find the trick in the evenings is to feed him a bit earlier, before he gets tired. In the mornings I've only just managed to get him to have his own bowl, and that's only if he can feed himself.

Em32 we had a similar stage with food and milk at 16 months, basically we got through it by just letting him only have what he wanted. If he didn't want his tea, he didn't have to have it no fuss. Same thing with his bottles. Was quite traumatic but luckily only lasted a few weeks. Back on his normal 2 bottles a day and 3 hefty meals now.

Anchovies Thought it might be a battle of wills thing - after having had him not eat at all for me for a month when he was about 9 months I feel like I can get through anything though! May have to grit my teeth again by the sounds of it....

Hi All

My DD is 18 months and has also just started to refuse to have here evening milk which is the only milk she is getting at the mo. Spoke to health visitor who said not to make it an issue and just try and feed her lots of cheese, yoghurt etc. However have to say I am still concerned but what can one do? I just hope that she manages to get everyhting she needs from what she is eating. Also insists on eating my cereal with my spoon in the morning. I have started leaving her milk (Which she will only drink from a bottle incidentally and refuses a sippy cup) in her cot with her in the evening in the hope that if she has one or two ounces only at least it is something.
