Gravy

Has anyone got a recipe for gravy please. I'm useless at making it but hate the granules you can buy. We're having sausage and mash tonight and would love to do a nice gravy to go with it. TIA

Put a quartered onion (red if you have it) in the pan with the sausages when you cook them.

When the sausages are done, take them out, put the dish on the hob, add a couple of spoons of flour and stir into the sausage fat, scraping all the tasty burnt bits off the dish into the roux. Then gradually add hot stock, keep stirring all the time until the gravy is as thick as you like it.

Season and strain into a warmed jug.

Enjoy!

Oh dear - was going to grill the sausages. Trying to make an unhealthy meal slightly healthier! Thanks for recipe though

I never fry sausages - how long do they need if shallow fried? And can you use olive oil?
