Rare beef - ok for kids or not?

Coooked a really lovely joint of topside last night, set the oven for medium but it really is quite pink. Fine for me and dh, but is it ok for kids - trying to plan tonight's dinner!

My Dcs were having rare roast beef from weaning, it was probably their first meat. i remember my then 3 year old getting roast beef at his nans house and asking "whats that?...its not beef, its all brown!"
