Slow cooker is just a cheapy ASDA effort (£).

I was thinking of buying a chicken and have mince in the freezer could I cook these in there?

I'm a bit basic when it comes to cooking really do need to get more adventurous!, DP and DS are extremely fussy, no veg etc so would like to sneak stuff in

Yes. You can cook just about anything basic in a slow cooker. A chicken or a roast are lovey.

A really easy chicken recipe with thighs (which I don't normally like but they're lovely in a slow cooker) in my slow cooker book is something like...

Chicken thighs
Tomato pasta sauce (just a jar of bought pasta sauce)
Handful of pitted olives
Then I add onion, pepper, mushrooms - if people don't like veg you could chop these really finely and they would melt away - ditto carrot/courgette

Serve with mashed potato/rice and peas.

You just throw it all in and cook for 8 hours on low.

For the mince just do your usual recipe for sheperds pie filling/savoury mince or spag bol or chilli.

You need to be careful not to put too much water in because it can't escape but you can always take the lid off and let it bubble on high for a while to thicken up.
