sprouting potatoes

Quick question - when potatoes have started to sprout those little shooty things, that means you aren't supposed to eat them doesn't it?

Or are they OK if you cut out the sprouting bits?

I just cut the sprouting bits off when peeling them

Whilst googling I have found this too:
"And don't store onions together with potatoes: The gases given off by onions accelerate the decay of potatoes, and vice versa"

Fancy. Never knew that before. Good old t'internet.

Will go and remove the sprouty bits and also remove them from the same basket as the onions!

Ta Furball!
