I'm making a steak pie. It was meant to be dinner, but only just realised that I misread the recipe, which means it wont be ready before 9 o'clock . The dcs wont appreciate that at all me thinks, so it'll be emergency curry or something tonight.
Anyway, my question is. If I want to freeze it for use later on in the week, do I freeze it before I've baked it in the oven, or do I bake it and then freeze it?

I think you should freeze it before you bake it (assuming pastry crust)

I think freeze before bake, but am only guessing - have not frozen a home made pie yet.
Soz, a bit pants aren't I?

Yes, I think that is right actually.
Then you can get it out to defrost, then bake it from where you are noe, as if you had just made it.

Otherwise might not be able to get it hot enough without burning it if you bake first when you come to use it?

Thanks for your answers. Seems to make sense to freeze it before baking, but wasn't sure.
