Any good baby friendly cake recipes? Low sugar ideally but tasty for adults too.

My favorite cake is an apple cake. I made this for years for birthdays. It's like carrot cake but you grate really tart green apples instead of carrots. Adults can have it with hot buttered rum sauce. I've also done angel food cake with fresh fruit and whipped cream many a year. Banana cake is still a favorite though I sneak choc chips in now. I also have a recipe for an orange date, pineapple-yellow, pumpkin bundt and carrot-all no sugar recipes. Let me know if any of those sound appealing.

For DS's 1st birthday 'cake' I did a selection of things - brownies, rice crispie cakes and mini muffins, piled them up on a plate and stuck a big candle on the top.
He wasn't much of a cake eater even then so he had a choice and it seemed to go down well with everyone else too!

I made a carrot cake (one that uses oil and not butter) as there were kids coming who couldn't eat butter. Went down really really well and the carrot in it made me feel DS had eaten something wholesome. (Hmmm??)

Here's the recipe:

I then cut it into pieces and made it into a train which was iced and covered in sweets!

Good luck. x
