is it ok to use a rectangle dish of the type I usually make lasagnes in?
Why do the recipes say flan dish - is it just for presentation or some other reason too??

Thanks!

Don't see why not. I usually use a pie dish.

will be fine

remember the pastry may take longer to cook ina ceramic one than a metal one though

We used to use a big lasagne type dish, at the cafe I worked in, but the bottom was biscuit base rather than pastry.

Of course you don't have to.

You could make them in classes if you wanted, or ramekins, or any suitable recepticle.

A loose bottomed flan dish is just easier when it comes to cutting and serving the pie though.

Am going to do biscuit base so hopefully my lasagne dish will be ok then.
Thanks!
