Help, no baking powder. What can I use instead?

Isn't there something clever I can do with bicarb? Or am I making that up? Want to make blueberry pancakes for breakfast tomorrow. Thanks!

Not sure about bicarb, but I would question whether you actually need baking powder for pancakes - I always used plain flour.

bicarb and cream of tartar will do it. Rate of 2vols cream of tartar to one of bicarb (or was that the other way round?)

If you have any self-raising flour I think that's just plain flour with added baking powder

Thanks. Was aiming for those nice fluffy pancakes but think it will have to be flat ones instead, as there is no self-raising or cream of tartar either. Will still be delicious.
