Breadmaker has jam setting, am considering making some damson jam in it - anyone tried this? Will it trash the tin? Is it easier to just use a pan like normal? Am in autumnal preserving/baking/batch cooking mode. Need to do as muc has poss because it wont last!

oooh, what sort of breadmaker is it?

I wonder if mine makes jam?

The all singing all dancing Panasonic 255 doesn't make jam, as I was gutted to find out. I was looking forward to a spot of jam making.

is that the one with a separate compartment on top for raisins/nuts? cos that's what I have, long since lost the manual though

I make jam in mine and just wash the pan in hot soapy water....fine....jam is good too although I always strain to get rid of 'bits'.

Dead easy and no need to stand and watch and test blah blah
