freezing shepards pie?

i have made two one to eat one to freeze should i cook the one i intend to freeze first befor i freeze the meat is already cooked obviously but should i just layer it upo with potatoes let it cool and freeze it or cook it in the oven then freeze it? sounds a silly question i no but usually i only feeze leftovers not a whole ready made meal

I layer mine up and then freeze them, cook them in the oven after defrosting.

I think they might get a bit burnt on top if they were cooked in the oven twice.
