have just done lamb steaks for the kids tea and cooked it as per the instructions. It was slightly pink in the middle so I haven't given that to the kids.

we eat meat cooked at various stages of pinkness/rareness so how do some people get food poisoning with some food but yet it is fine to eat undercooked meat?

There won't be any bugs in the middle of a piece of meat, only the outside so pink meat is fine.

Lamb's OK pink, infact that's how the top restaurants and the French do it. They can eat it!

lamb's mean t to be pink. You'll need to cook it longer than cooking instructions if you want it well done

It looked like there was a bit of blood juice running out when I sliced the meat. Is that okay for the kids?

yes, it's ok

But don't listen to me, I tend to be gung-ho about most things

mmm yummy. It will be fine, as posted earlier the germs are only on the outside of the meat. It is only pork and chicken that need to be cooked through fully.

Thanks all

My DD has eaten bloody meat since she was about 9 months.
