OK, now that ham is off limits because it's poison naughty I am going to have to be more creative with DD1's pack lunches. She didn't have ham every day last year, she would go in phases of liking it and then not want it for a while, but aside from tuna (with mixed peppers, she's not keen on sweetcorn!) or cheese or soft goats cheese (again with peppers normally) I am a bit stumped as to what to put in her butties!

Any fabulous, healthy, easy (ish) ideas??

Anyone????

What about a pitta or a wrap with chilli chicken and some salad?

choosyfloosy · 07/09/2009 19:54

well, not very inspiring really but...

salami or pate with cucumber (sorry, is that worse?)
scrambled egg
egg mayonnaise
sardine and cucumber

Tillyscoutsmum · 07/09/2009 19:55

rubyslippers · 07/09/2009 19:56

NoGoodNicknamesLeft · 07/09/2009 19:57

my dh likes marmite and cucumber. just wrong, i think, but no accounting for tastes. we used to make sausage sandwiches with ketchup, omg so yum. irish sausies, so the thinner ones.

GoneCuckoo · 07/09/2009 19:58

Cheese with horseradish.
Egg mayo OR salad cream.
Shiphams paste (nasty).
Philadelphia with jam.

ElectricElephant · 07/09/2009 20:01

peanut butter and marmite
salami and philadelphia
sausages and brown sauce/ketchup
WhateverRoastYouHadonSunday with mayo

tassisssss · 07/09/2009 20:07

our fillings are well boring but i do try to ring the changes with the bread - wraps, pitta, rolls...

GreensleevesFlouncedLikeAKnob · 07/09/2009 20:08

quorn ham (yeuch but my kids love it)
homous and grated carrot
cheese and sliced apple

Bubbles2002 · 07/09/2009 21:47

How about wraps, cold pizza or crackers to add variation? You say she's not keen on cheese - what about giving her a mild flavoured cheese like cheestrings - then you know she would be getting the goodness of a whole glass of milk. Also, my son loves vegetable sticks such as peppers etc.

Thanks, lots of food for thought there !!

A months worth of packed lunches from the Food Standards Agency HERE.

Some are a bit weird but some good ideas

lindawashere · 07/09/2009 23:41

My personal favourite sandwich is egg mayo, might be a bit smelly but delicious
How about Chicken Mayo or Tuna Mayo.

I always give her sandwiches, a piece of fruit, yoghurt and a healthy snack.

My daughter loves Cheestrings at the moment, there are 8 different types so they never get bored and its a healthy snack. Made from 100% real cheese.

I have been asked to help to promote these and its no problem as my kid loves them.

twirlymum · 07/09/2009 23:50

Marmite. Yum. With salt and vinegar crisps in. (Sorry, that's my lunch)

VulpusinaWilfsuit · 08/09/2009 00:05

sorry but I just love the idea of a Ham Cheese Tune. How does it go?

GrimmaTheNome · 08/09/2009 00:07

Inspired by the Secret Seven's teatime thread, obviously sardines!

GreenMonkies · 08/09/2009 21:47

Bugger, a typo in my thread title! Thanks for that Vulpusina.......
