Green beans - bit of help needed

Hi

my veg box has a bag of green beans in it - not the thin things that I've had before, big long flat pods, that I've no idea how to cook.

Can anyone help bu telling me how to prepare and cook them?

Are they runner beans?

If so take the sides off with a vegetable peeler as they can be stringy, then slice or chop them up into one inch pieces and steam til tender
