I expect this has been done to death but I have a fussy 10 yr old and an adventurous 4 yr old starting at school on Monday and apparently ham sandwiches are out!
We have come up with:
tuna in a little pot with cucumber
hot dogs
baked beans with sausages
cheese strings
for the fussy one

olives
houmous
cucumber
cheese strings
for the adventurous one
their suggestions

Any other ideas?

School lunches?

OhYouBadBadKitten · 03/09/2009 21:38

pasta salad
tabouleh
crackers, cheese, apple etc
stuffed pita
wraps
fritatta (never done that one)

Half the time I just adapt leftovers from the nights dinner.

Ta
DD1 has school lunches one day a week as she only likes sausage day!
I did think packed lunches would be nicer and easier for a reception child.

Mine are addicted to wraps at the moment.

Smear with mayo or houmous, add chopped up cucumber, grated carrot, chopped red pepper, chopped crunchy lettuce and roll up.

processed ham
fruit shoot
greggs sausage roll
packet of crisps
chocolate bar

Mmmmm!

Not tried them with wraps but the adventurous one does like pita so she may go for it.

I'd recommend you search through old MN threads, there have been some great ones with loads of good ideas, but it has been done to death now.

DS always has a cream cheese and fruit sandwich (usually apple, grape or banana) on any kind of bread.

I've really been enjoying making DD's lunches . She's 4.5 and we're non-meat eaters. I've got some Lock n Lock boxes with four compartments and have been assembling combinations of the following:

Tofu wieners
Cherry tomatoes
Cucumber (cut into cute shapes with teeny weeny cutters)
Edam sandwiches
Boiled eggs
Boiled quails egg (huge hit)
Quorn ham sandwiches
Rolls of quorn ham
Slices of tofu (fried or raw)
Rice + furikake seasoning
Tartex (yeast pate) sandwiches
Houmous
Herby mini-rolls
Olives
Cubes of cheese
Strawberries
Blueberries
Apple slices
Satsuma
Pancake + sugar + lemon
Chocolate tiffin
Mini victoria sponges
Flapjack
Small fromage frais / frube

Teeny weeny cutters are here

DD also really likes these teny bento picks for skewering strawbs / berries / pancake rolls / cheese cubes etc
