At the mo, he isnt eating very much, (phases of this as you probably get this with your own)

Struggling to see a problem. DD often eats nightingale tongues (minced beef)

MaryBS · 03/09/2009 09:35

I fed DD Gruffalo Crumble once. She didn't like it. She liked it even less when she found out it was actually diced courgette

PolarBear74 · 03/09/2009 09:43

I ate what I thought was sausages for years - it didn't seem to bother me that they often resembled chicken, beef, pork.... My Mother must have been a most convincing liar!

MyCatIsAFleaBagNoMore · 03/09/2009 09:45

All meat is chicken in our house. DD happy, I'm happy.

Mt BIL comes from a family of 14! Growing up, steak was a real treat. Imagine his dismay to find out he'd been fed liver (and the embarassment of pointing this out at his friends house).

We have a dish called hedgehog legs, which is actually pork chops. The body is made of mashed potato, and the sliced meat makes the legs.

For years, as children, we used to love home-made crocodile jam which was my Gran's speciality.

Now, if we'd been told it was blackcurrant jam we wouldn't have touched it.

bleugh at nightingale tongues. I'd rather eat minced beef meself

RubberDuck · 03/09/2009 10:18

My favourite pudding when I was growing up was Elephants and Custard.

Apparently, it was a really good way of making me eat bananas (the trunks )

AstronomyDomine · 03/09/2009 10:20

DS would only eat shepherds pie when he was little because he thought it was Thomas the Tank Pie!

glasgowlass · 03/09/2009 10:20

When we were young my Dad used to make the most gorgeous beef stew. One of my older brothers who was, and still is, very fussy refused to eat it, saying he didnt like it, so my Dad made him "goulash". Same stew just decanted into seperate pot just before serving so my DB thought he had different food.

He still to this day asks my dad to make him goulash when he and his family are coming to my parents for dinner. Everyone knows except him that he gets the same stuff!

Deffo something I will use on DS if need be when older.

My Brother never ate Mince pies at Xmas as he thought they were meat mince! He could never understand why we ate them with cream and custard!

When he discovered at 19 what he was missing out on he was horrified - eats vast quantities of them to make up for lost time!
