My breadmaker will be here by this evening. Tomorrow i want to make some bread. I need some good recipes please, as we went for a model that doesn't come with a recipe book.

I am so excited!!

1/2 teaspoon fast yeast
200g white bread flour
200g wholemeal bread flour
18g butter
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon sugar
300g water (I weigh water, not measure it.)

That's my basic bread recipe that I use for everyday bread

Oaty loaf

1 1/4 tsp easybake yeast
350g strong white bread flour
150g porridge oats
1 tsp salt
350ml water

This is from the book "Fresh Bread in the Morning from Your Bread Machine" by Annette Yates, which I thoroughly recommend

Also have a look at the recipes on this website They are geared up to a Panasonic breadmaker, but I'm sure they are all adaptable. Making ciabatta is nice, although looks nothing like ciabatta you would buy in the shops but has a nice rustic texture, as does any loaf made using olive oil.

I use a similar recipe to SoupDragon in my panasonic.

I use olive oil (a big splurge) rather than butter when I make an all wholemeal loaf or a 50/50 loaf. And more yeast with all wholemeal - 3/4 to 1 teaspoon depending of age of yeast. I've also just started adding the recommended Vit C powder to 100% wholemeal and it does make a difference.
