Fat free Ice-Cream or Frozen Yoghurt

Having decided to start eating more healthily and try and lose a few pounds along the way, I have been looking in the local supermarkets for fat free ice cream or fat free frozen yoghurt - does anyone know where I could get some from?

Try the cow variety. Lazy cow? Something cow? I can't remember. But, it's probably not fat cow or it wouldn't sell.

Or I like the Weight Watcher desserts.

Ben & Jerry's do a lower fat frozen yoghurt version of their choc brownie ice cream - is lurvely. Was in Tesco.

They also do cherry garcia and pfish food now.

Marketing bollocks. Full of sugar and have a higher GI than normal ice cream because the fat slows down the rate of absorption of the sugar. Won't help you lose weight at all.

I think that is true for most food products. When they remove fat, they put sugar in its place. Another example is salad dressing.

But, everyone has a different approach to dieting and if your objective is to reduce the fat intake these are a way to still enjoy some treats.

You could always have a skinny cow and go running. Nothing quite like a nice sugar high to get your feet moving.

hi as I am sort of following the low gi diet they don't sound is if they are for me? I will check that now, thanks for the info.

Shame as I looked at their website earlier and their ice-creams did all look rather yummy

In that case, I don't think you should be looking for fat free because most fat free things eith hike up the sugar or they add sugar and nutrasweet.
