don't do what my sil did and boiled them all in the same pan for 9 mins - 3 mins each egg - I PMSL.

WigWamBam · 30/05/2005 20:49

If you're putting the eggs into the boiling water, put a bit of vinegar in as well, so that if the boiling water cracks the eggs, the whites don't run out everywhere

MarsLady · 30/05/2005 20:49

when the water is boiling count to 180. Perfect every time!

mishmash · 30/05/2005 20:50

I reckon this works: put an egg in a pan with enough cold water from the tap to just cover the top of it. Put over a high heat until it boils, i.e. furious bubbles appear. IMMEDIATELY they do appear set a timer for 4 minutes and turn the heat down to a simmer. Put some toast on, butter it and cut it into dippies (call them soldiers if you have to but they'll always be dippies to me!) The minute the timer goes off take egg/s out and put in an egg cup, slicing the top off straight away. I reckon this gives you runny yolk and set white on a medium egg. It never fails ime. Saddo aren't I?
