Pre-packaged haddock fillets, well within BB date. Doesn't smell 'off' but just very, very, very fishy, both before and after cooking. Is it safe? It's for ds (2 yo) and possibly me (30 weeks pg) so have to be careful!

Any answers please? Tia.

I have always been told that fresh fish shouldn't smell fishy.

I would bin if not sure but usually I expect fish to smell.

Once I binned it when it didn't smell nice and even the cat wouldn't eat it.

if in doubt no don't eat it. especially if it has a whiff of very fishyness after you have cooked it.

Try FAB advice and feed a bit to the cat first

I wouldn't risk it but if you have a cat then throw it a bit- if it won't eat it then chuck it

Both work, dmpap.
