Egg safety -quick question before i make tea

Left half dozen eggs on dashboard of car overnight and all day today. The car is in full sun all morning and shade in the afternoon. Just got them and they are warm. Do I chuck them out or just bake with all of them today. It has been about 70 degrees here but of course hotter in the car? don't want to poison anyone but also hate the idea of wasting eggs [sad}

Isn't there a trick you can do with a pint glass of water? If the eggs float they're off and if they sink they're ok.

I would bin them. Hot sun, they are probably cooked.

If they float they are off. If they sink they are Ok

Yes the being cooked is another issue. Break one into a cup before you put it in your cake mix first

Well at least if they're cooked, you'll notice when you take the shells off

Crack em into a cup one at a time. You will be able to tell if they are off/coooked/weird.

smell ok and not cooked. sank like stones. they are mega fresh from the chicken's doodah at teh local farm yesterday. If there is a report next week in the Daily (Hate)Mail about a stupid northern women giving herself salmonella from dodgy eggs that will be me

Just made Nigella's breakfast pancakes and tipped a load of blackberry and apple mix in which was left over from crumble. I have eaten about 15 because I am greedy and probably won't get round to making tea tonight. They tasted fine. I will use the rest up quickly tho
