I'm using the highly acclaimed one here:
www.mumsnet.com/Recipes?call=RecipePage&pid=871

which says to use self raising flour AND three teaspoons of baking powder.

Is that right? Not plain flour plus baking powder, or s\r flour plus baking soda?

Just checking....

Recipe sounds OK to me - I use my own recipe which produces a smaller cake, but still add baking powder to self raising flour as it is an "all in one" recipe - no separate creaming of fat and sugar, adding egg then folding in flour.
It should be baking powder not soda and the teaspoons should be level, not rounded or heaped.

Thank you Lilymaid. I'm using a proper measuring teaspoon which I think is 5ml. Is that ok to use (flat not heaped) - all my normal teaspoons are different sizes!
