I would suggest Roast beef - Put the beef into the slow cooker and turn on for about 3 hours - depending on the size of joint. Then use all the juices at the end to make into gravy it's lovely.

brown mush - put anything in it and it will come out as brown mush - magic!

Chicken thighs, carrots, onion, mushrooms, peas and a chassuer mix. Only add the peas and mushrooms about twenty mins before serving though.

It was lovely!!!

I just bought my first SC yesterday. This morning I've put potatoes, carrots, leeks, onion, 6 chicken thighs(without skin), 4 drummers (with skin), mixed 2 chicken stock cubes, mix herbs, thyme, worc sauce, salt ,pepper in 1 pint of water. I've put it all in for 10 hours. I'm very nervous how it'll turn out. I'll let you know!

It might be a bit watery if you've put a whole pint of water in as i find it gives out lots of it's own juices, so you may need to thicken the sauce a little just before serving with a cornflour mix.

Yes it was very watery. I did thicken to make a very yummy sauce Youngest DS 5, said it was the best dinner ever. 4 empty plates. DP turn this weekend.

If you do chilli, shepherds pie, bolognese etc do you have to brown the mince or fry the vegetables first?
