anybody have a great irish stew recipe?

ive tried other peoples recipes before and just cant get it right. my mum use to make lovely irish stew but she has changed her recipe and forgets what she used to do (twas many years ago) so even she is of no help.

all recipes greatly received.

Hello! I think key to making a good lamb stew is simply choosing (rather unhealthily) a cut of lamb that has some fat, ideally on the bone, and cooking it slowly for a long time.

When I make it, I don't brown the meat, just put in raw lamb, onions, potatoes and carrots. I like adding pearl barley, you can also add sliced leeks. Salt and pepper. 160 degrees for as long as you like. Longer the better usually.

thanks carrieJ, thats one to try. never thought of putting it in raw.
