Smoked Ham Hock/Ham Bone......

ok need the power of MN again. Got a recipe here for black bean soup but need a smoke ham hock or ham bone (american recipe). Anyhow, searched high and low - and the closest I can find is gammon - do you think that would do???

I would ahve thought so yes

yes it would do but don't pu so much water in as the bone part of the hock would have made the soup gelatinous and thicker

you may have to order one from an old fashioned butchers as it really is worth it
