Slow cookers - help on tempereatures - Please

Hi,

I don't have a slow cooker yet but considering getting one, I do have a range cooker with a small oven which I can put on really low and leave for hours - so is this not just the same a a slow cooker or are you avid user screaming NO! If you think its ok , what tempertaure does a slow cooker work at? thanks

Sorry, no ideas about the actual temps - low, med and high! If you can use your range cooker i would try that - one less appliance to take up space. I have a slow oven in my cooker but it's too narrow to fit my average sized casserole dish so it just gets used for warming plates.

mine just says low and high so no help on temperatures here either.
