Have never tried it, must make a point of getting some.

Could do with something else for ds to dip bits into at lunchtime.

god houmous is gorgeous and one of life's staples!! how have you lived without it for so long? My kids love it on pitta -- I love it on anything, healthy and good for you.. counts as a fruit and veg!!

You can also make it using just water to thin it instead of oil if you want to, it's not quite so luscious but still tasty. tesco do lemon & coriander flavour, absolutely delish, but haven't tried to reproduce it at home yet.

It's lovely and soooo quick to make. Throw a tin of chick peas, a pot of natural yoghurt, garlic to your taste, squirt of lemon juice, tablespoon of tahini and a dash of olive oil into the bleder and blend till it's a fairly coarse paste (or smooth depending on taste). serve as a dip with anything or in pitta breads. really healthy

Another vote here! 8 month old dd has just discovered it and she loves it, can't get enough of it. It's a brilliant packed lunch for eating out as it doesn't need to be heated up and isn't toooooo messy.

I've made it without the usual bucketful of cayenne pepper, but it's easy enough for dp and I to add chilli to our own portions.

I was wondering, has anyone tried freezing it, and did it come out ok? I'd like to make a huge batch and freeze some - is it too oily to freeze?

Hmmm, should be "dp and ME", said the grammar pedant....

Well i brought some and......................

Ds did one of those little shudders when they hate whats in their mouths, and dd2 pulled a face and said yuck. Dp didn't like it either.

BUT

Me and Dd1 think it's lovely and polished it off rather quickly between us.
