Help! scales broken!

Does anyone know how to weigh out things like flour when your scales have broken? How much is 8oz? coffee mug? pint glass? Promised the kids scones tomorrow but won't have time to go to shops for new scales
(My god is this all I have to worry about?!!!)
Anyway, if anyone has a tip, it will be gratefully received.

One of my recipe books has emergency measures in it, I'll go and have a look...............

Right, according to my invaluable 'Dairy Book of Home Cookery' 3 level tablespoons of flour is roughly 1oz\25g

Don't want to confuse the issue - but I'm fairly certain that a rounded tablespoon is 1 oz for Flour/sugar etc.
So 8oz is 8 rounded tablespoons.......
sorry if this is too late
