oops sorry that was supposed to be strikethrough'd

fishie · 30/06/2009 20:55

you can chop and cook chorizo from frozen. it is bloody hard to peel though, do it before you freeze it.

snickersnack · 30/06/2009 20:56

Another tip - don't use celery, it's the devil's vegetable .

But the ginger thing is genius. Freezers, in fact, are genius. There is almost nothing I haven't, at one point or another, frozen. Every time I open my freezer door, bag after bag of breadcrumbs fall on my head.

But ginger only costs about 20p for a big nobble of it! I've tried freezing chillis and I don't think that frozen chillis are a patch on fresh ones. They're not firm enough. Sorry! As you were

It's not about the cost helsbels, it's having it there for when you need it next!

helsbels4 · 30/06/2009 21:21

Yes but you can buy it in varying sizes of nobbliness so I just buy a piece big enough to last a couple of recipes then buy some fresh.

I bought the Twatrose pickeldy stuff and it was not good.
