A couple of the mums from school are popping round for a drink cup of tea whilst the children are at afternoon nursery and before the school run.

Apart from the gin tea what would you serve. I am out most of the morning so it needs to be simple enough - but would like some nibbles. It's only for an hour so not too much food etc

Tbh I would probably just do a plate of nice sarnies and some scones with jam and strawberries at that time.

If it's for a cup of tea, are they cakey types? And do you want to buy or make?

If it was me I would buy some doughnuts, big cookies or something. or how about scones with the works?

If you've got a food processor it's really easy to make smoked mackerel pate, or tapenade or hummous/chickpea dip. You can then serve these with bread sticks, toast or crudites.

Dips and dippers sounds good too. But either that OR sarnies, not both.

And then either scones or a big Victoria sponge.
