my dd is 7mths and seems to eat very little, intially she was quite good and curious, but now she turns head away, even though it is something she does eat when she settles herself. her first reaction is to refuse and it can take 45mins to try and get her to eat something substanial. i have made lots of things and frozen them so there is a good choice in the freezer.
maybe she'll come round? any one else have a similar baby?
i feel shes depending on her milk too much but i do curtail her intake of it to try and get her to eat more.

Could she be teething? My DS2 can be a bit like this when teething altough he usually will eat something but lots of head turning and a closed mouth at times. I usually find he will eat cold things, yoghurt etc or finger foods if it is really bad. HTH.

Just a couple of thoughts to try; is it warm enough/ All my children have gagged over luke warm food, even as tiny babies. No4 is just as you describe, so I get round it by putting peas on the tray for her to pick up while I spoon the real stuff in. I also find a spoon in her hand helped even at 7 months, although she could do nothing with it. I think some children just don't like the passivity of having it spooned into them (uh oh!). Also start finger food now: rice cakes, marmkite sarnies with no crusts, soft steamed carrot batons etc. HIH
