Banana bread - don't have loaf tin, could I make in small saucepan??

Am in holiday let, kitchenware distinctly lacking.

I have some v ripe bananas I wanted to use in a banana loaf. There is quite a small saucepan that looks ovenproof... Not sure I have much choice.

Tell me now if I'm about to do something very silly

what is the handle of the saucepan made of?

FluffyBunnyGoneBad · 22/06/2009 19:17

Can't you just make bananas and custard?

ButtercupWafflehead · 22/06/2009 19:20

Haven't you got a roasting tin or something deepish?

oysterpots · 22/06/2009 19:23

saucepan handle is metal, it's a circulon steel one. not keen on bananas and custard, want something to take to the beach tomorrow. Not enough ingredients to make in whopping great big roasting tin!

How about making a couple in two empty baked bean tins? Or some such?

oysterpots · 22/06/2009 19:46

hey, that's an idea. only we don't have any... will think on.

is general consensus no to saucepan?

Well if its all metal it should be fine - check how the handle is attached to the main bit of saucepan though.

No tins of food at all about your person? Beer cans? Coke cans? Although they might be a bit thin and buckle I suppose.
