HELP!!! Home-made pizza disaster!

MrsMerryHenry · 11/06/2009 16:30

I have to leave the house in 40 mins to pick up DS from nursery. Was all set to make a pizza base...but no blardy strong white flour! GAaaaaaaaaaaah!

Can I use wholemeal/ spelt bread flour as a substitute? Will I need to alter the recipe?

Oh bloody hell that was a misleading thread title. Expected to come here and read that the disaster was that someone had frisbee'd it onto your sofa or something

attention-seeking? moi?

Actually I've just found a recipe

But thanks for coming to my aid anyway. Even though you didn't help.

Wholemeal will do the job

Doyouthinktheysaurus · 11/06/2009 16:49

I've used spelt before, it was lovely.

Oh yes, sorry, I didn't actually give any constructive advice did I

Not that you would value pizza making info from me!

MrsMerryHenry · 11/06/2009 16:52

Thanks all. Do you just substitute it straight, or do you alter the recipe first?

Bit late now as I've got it in the breadmaker, but it will be useful for future reference.

If you are using wholemeal/spelt flour you just need a bit more water I think. Apart from that the method should be the same.
