What can I do with lambs liver? Please not just with onions!

I bought some free-range, organic lambs liver from a farmers market at the weekend (it's in the freezer now). Haven't had liver since my lovely Gran used to make it for me when I was a child with onions and gravy and it was yum.

So what else can I do to 'make it more of a meal'? Having been a veggie for the most part of the last 20 years I am at a bit of a loss for ideas!

TIA

my DH fries it very quickly in butter and we eat it over a big pile of salad....very nice

ooh that sounds nice, we like things with big mounds of salad.... mmmm... I just couldn't get my mindset past the Gran-with-liver-and-onions-thing...

Weird because I'm pretty ok at cooking and trying new things all the time.

Thanks

just out of interest, what prompted your return to meat-eating? Are you comfortable with it?

yes very nice sliced really thinly (I find it easiest to slice thinly while still frozen) and then flash fried and piled on top of a salad that also contains orange segments and a dressing with orange juice.

Lovely.

My dad makes lovely livr parcels with filo pastry.

Overmydeadbody that sounds gorgeous, think I will do that on Friday night, good tip about the slicing when frozen, cheers.

GandT, I became a veggie at about 18ish because of the cruelty to animals involved in the whole process... dh was similar (although we didn't know each other then). About 18 months ago we decided to just eat meat again - after much discussion, providing the meat was humanely sourced etc etc. It has opened up a whole new world to us, we don't eat tons of it because of the prohibitive cost, but ds1 loves meat and is the pickiest pita you could ever meet so at least he's getting protein...

anyway that's it in a nutshell I s'pose...
