Can anyone tell me where I can get mini marshmallows for Nigella's chocolate mousse recipe? The big ones take too long to melt. [lazy emoticon]

Tesco do them on bakery section too.

bluejeans · 06/06/2009 20:14

I got some in Sainsbury's last week for DD's hot chocolate! must check out the Nigella recipe you mention!

cookielove · 06/06/2009 20:21

if you cut them i pre warn you it becomes a very sticky mess, i would recomend just buying the smaller ones, i got very angry making marshmellow cup cakes, very very

wiggletastic · 06/06/2009 20:42

Tried the cutting but such a sticky mess I lost the will to make the mousse. Tried Tesco here (which is supposed to be the biggest in UK) but they didn't have any. We have no Waitrose , although there is a rumour of one by Christmas. Will try Sainsbos. Thanks everyone.

The Nigella recipe is p*ss easy btw. I had a panic when it appeared like chocolate soup before going in the fridge but it set beautifully. I shaved some white choc on top and our friends were well impressed. [smug emoticon]

oh good i'm not the only one who ends up in a sticky mess that is good to know

wiggletastic · 06/06/2009 20:44

Being in a sticky mess should be reserved for other occasions IMO

cookielove · 06/06/2009 20:57

i'm to innocent to know what that could possibly mean???

wiggletastic · 06/06/2009 21:57

Hmmm... a likely story.

cookielove · 06/06/2009 22:09

blametheparents · 06/06/2009 22:11

M&S cookery section

serin · 06/06/2009 23:20

Asda do them, as do Sainsbury's.
DD bought all her friends them for Christmas, along with a tub of hot chocolate mix!

wiggletastic · 07/06/2009 11:19

Have tried M&S too. I will try Sainsburys and if no luck will go to Asda. There must be some mini marshmallows in Glasgow somewhere!

Tip for a non-sticky mess when cutting marshmallows; Stand your knife/scissors in hot water for a while before cutting. Dry utensil and cut. Will slide through with no stickiness. May have to restand utensil in water again after about 2/3 marshmallows but it does work

pointydog · 07/06/2009 17:02

my mum got some in glasgow m&s last week

dinkystinky · 07/06/2009 17:59

Lakeland direct do them too - you can order them online that way

wiggletastic · 07/06/2009 19:36

pointy, could your mum get me some next time please as M&S are hiding them from me. . Thanks for the tip biscuits, I will revert to this method if the great mini-marshmallow hunt continues to be a great big failure.

pointydog · 07/06/2009 19:39

my mum seems to spend half her week in m&s

wiggletastic · 07/06/2009 19:52

So did I when they were doing their afternoon cake and coffee for £2 offer.

Saw these in M and S yesterday. They are doing a special offer - buy 3 things from the bakery section, get a free cookbook.
