Apple, brown sugar, vinegar (very important), red wine braise slowly for a couple of hours.

Argh! Must get it in the oven quick - preference for balsamic over your basic sarsons? Or I think i've got some white wine vinegar somewhere in the back of the cupboard?

I'd use wine vinegar

Sycamoretreeisvile · 06/06/2009 19:50

Mmmmm, it already smells GOOOD! Have put in red wine vinegar, apple, cinammon stick, pinch ginger, brown sugar and red wine.

MMmmn, now to wrap my chicken breasts in bacon and put the rest of the veg in to roast!

I use this Delia Smith recipe - foolproof, but it makes a hell of a lot.
