How do I stick chocolate buttons to the side of a cake covered in regal Ice?

Use a little dab of royal icing. I buy the Tate and Lyle mix then you can just make up a tablespoon or so, put in an icing bag with a thin nozzle, and pipe a dot

DT says...
you can get sugar glue or edible glue from your local cake shop! It will stick icing to icing, and light things such as chocolate buttons, anything heavier - use royal icing.

Hope this helps
