Hello! I've made brownies, and they have just come out of the oven.

Recipe says that the middle will be gloopy, but just to let it all set and it will be squidgy and delicious.

BUT, gloopy? it looks like the mixture did. Is this gloopy? or raw? Shall I put it in for another 10 mins or leave it to cool?

Hope you can help me!

put a knife in and see if it comes out covered, clean or inbetween.

You could put it back in for 5 minutes with foil on top so it doesn't burn.

HI FBG!

Knife comes out covered in "mixture".

Have left it to set with the view that I can always put it in again, but can't un-cook if I overdo it.

Could always make the middle into milkshake?

Ah, I'm going to leave it while I put DS down for a nap.

I'll reassess when I he wakes up!

Thanks for caring, FBG!!!!

Oh I care. Have had enough baking disasters to know how annoying it is when things go wrong!

Did it work out OK? Was it by any chance the Nigella recipe? I've tried to make that 3 times, and in order to get the mixture to cook, I have to put it in for long enoug that they're no longer squidgy . I'd actually given up on ever making successful brownies, til someone told me yesterday that Nigella's recipe's not great. Maybe I'll give it another go sometime...
