Sardine guts?

I just bought some sardines to put on the barbeque tonight but having got them home I find they are not gutted - not sure I have ever had ungutted fish from a supermarket before. I know I ate them (very fresh) ungutted in Portugal once - just ate around the guts - bit not sure I fancy it here. Any advice or should I just get stuck in and do it?

How big are they?

It's quite easy to gut them thoug, as long as you have a sharp knife and are not squeemish.

Not squeamish at all and big enough. I was just wondering why the asda fishmonger hadn't already done it, I suppose!

I don't know why they wheren't done, sometimes you have to ask.

I would have just assumed they would be done though, like you.
