Easy Ukranian food - help!

Long story, but I've been asked to cook something Ukranian tonight - any suggestions for something reasonably quick using supermarket ingredients?

I'm a reasonably dab hand at blini, if they have those in Ukraine? Maybe some kind of mushroom topping / filling?

is chicken kiev ukranian - although a little retro!

I like retro! Do I need a deep fat fryer for it though?
