blametheparents · 19/05/2009 11:51

Banana and peanut butter is another great combination on toast - yummy

suwoo · 19/05/2009 12:07

Thanks stripeypineapple, you have just given me another idea of what I can eat to make me even fatter this pregnancy.

By the way..........do you use butter/marg? or straight on with the banana. Ta.

ChampagneDahling · 19/05/2009 12:28

Personally I like banana on toast with a thin layer of marmite underneath - ie toast butter/marg marmite and then mashed banana - yumm!

But you either love or hate marmite...!! Where is marmitebabe these days??

stripeypineapple · 19/05/2009 13:25

Butter on top of the butter then on with honey and then slices of banana.

Yummy Mc scrummyton.

I mash the banana up and mix the honey in. 1-2 teaspoons of it to 1 banana and 2 rounds of toast.

ninedragons · 19/05/2009 13:49

Nutella & banana. Combination of the gods.

WhereTheWildThingsWere · 19/05/2009 13:51

Mash the banana with the honey, spread on the toast, pinch of salt on the top and then grill untill the banana browns. Used to have this for breakfast in Thailand and still love it now.

stripeypineapple · 19/05/2009 13:52

Wildthing....I think I love you

why limit yourself to only 2? P-nut butter, banana, AND honey. we call these pooh bear sandwiches in our house.

audreyraines · 19/05/2009 14:01

this is my favourite. i also have ricotta, banana and honey on toast sometimes.

stripeypineapple · 19/05/2009 14:02

How posh!

PMSL.

I got addicted to it at a cafe in Sydney, and sometimes remember to replicate it myself. Actually, I am starving, so have been inspired to make some now

stripeypineapple · 19/05/2009 14:13

Thinking about it actually made my salivary glands ache a bit I thought it sounded so tasty.

If I didn't have leftovers to eat up I'd be having my breakfast again for lunch with some of these additions.

my only regret is that i've had to have it on hovis rather than fancy sourdough bread or some such.

stripeypineapple · 19/05/2009 14:17

Hovis?

Oh dear audrey, my image of posh you has just shrivelled.

OP posts:
oopsacoconut · 19/05/2009 14:21

mine isn't as posh as Audrey's - it's philedelphia, then sliced banana, drizzled with honey and sprinkled with chopped nuts. mmm going shopping now to buy bananas, thanks stripey

audreyraines · 19/05/2009 14:21

the good stuff just doesn't last long enough around here, as both ds and i are bread monsters. i keep hovis in the freezer for bread emergencies like this.

but now you see why i pmsl at your posh image!

audreyraines · 19/05/2009 14:23

mmm, oopsa yum, must add some chopped nuts to mine.

i used to have another toast favourite, but haven't had it for years. it is toast spread with tahini, layered with sliced avocado and topped with sunflower seeds. sounds ridiculously healthy, but also ridiculously tasty. probably better not to use hovis though!

usedtoreadbooks · 20/05/2009 07:47

One slice of granary toast, salted butter, and sliced banana; and one of marmite. If I'm really hungry I'll have a third with honey. Then I eat bites of each alternately .

marmitebabe · 20/05/2009 10:16

I'm here Champagne - just name changed.

Another vote for the marmite and banana combo please

Bananas very healthy - very good for you - lots of potassium
