Bought some rump steak earlierin the week just got it out of the fridge and it's gone greyish.... Is it still ok to eat? Any idea why it's gone grey. It got yesterdays date on, will it be ok to eat? Smells ok.

Sure it's fine. Steak goes like this sometimes...we always eat it!

Cannot explain why sorry. Someone told me once, but my brain is mush.

Even a day after it's use by date??

if it smells Okk, its prob fine. Beef is hung to tenderise it & give it more flavour. It'll probably be yummy. I'm jealous.

Properly hung beef is greyish brown and is much nocer than the bright red supermarket shite so will probably be lovely.

Interesting. Smells like meat, if you knowwhat I mean. I'm not abig red meat eater, it's a treat for dh. Why was it pinkish and gone grey, just time?

yes it's just time that makes it go greyish. If it smells fine then eat it.
