Hi all!

So we have the circus at the school tomorrow, and we have all been asked to bring in some cakes for the cake stand.
We are going to make rocky road biscuit cake thingy majiggy bobs.
I did a little test today, just a very simple mix of chocolate, crushed digestive biscuits, marshallows and sultanas. Yum yum. But I was wondering, if I add cream to the chocolate would that help to make it go further and hence make more? Would it set properly, and how much would I add?
Sorry to be a doofus, but I've never added cream before.... and I don't want to wreck the chocolate!
Also, and bright ideas of what to add or topping ideas are very welcome! Thanks

P.s (I have just moved this from recipies as I think I may have posted in the wrong place )

What about a bit of melted butter and dollop of golden syrup?
Just to up the calorie intake

I like Nigella's version

Mmmm

lol, so that would just spread it a bit?
I've just looked up adding cream to chocolate, and apparantly I would be making a ganache... ooh get me! It wouldn't set, so that's out the window.
Off to the shops to get some golden syrup. These are the most expensive rocky road cakes ever made

I make 'em for DH to take into work sometimes. His workmates love me

I use smart price stuff though... no need to go crazy

Crackopenthebaileys · 13/05/2009 16:36

we just made them, minus the golden syrup as the shop was out of stock!
They still look rather yummy. I may just have to try one. For health and Safety reasons. Obviously
