I am a bit worried that I am giving my DD (2.8) too much to eat. She hasnt put much weight on in the last year or so but has grown a lot taller but she still looks chubbier than many of her friends.
Today, for example, she has had:
breakfast - cheerios, yoghurt drink
packed lunch- mini submarine roll with cream cheese, tofu and carrot burger, tangerine, strawberries, yoghurt, fruit bar, g'bread man
tea - hummus with veg and breadsticks to dip, mini muffin, kiwi fruit, fruit pot

she has snacks of fruit at nursery and drinks milk at breakfast and tea, water at lunchtime.

does this sound like too much? now i've listed it, it looks like loads!

I think that sounds like a good menu for a 2 1/2 year old to eat in one day.
Mine tends to graze, and when I total it up at the end of the day it looks more than I think it is at the time.

  • Where did you get the tofu & carrot burger If you made it can I have the recipie please?

I don't think that is too much tbh. My dd is 2.3 and eats way way more than that some days. She also eats a lot of fruit, but not many calories in that so probably why she constantly wants filling. I wouldnt mind that recipe too

Sounds fine to me, if anything tea sounds a bit light for my DS

Dinner. Marmite sandwich and some cubes of cheese, apple and fruit pot

My ds is 2 next week and he eats loads
Today was breakfast ;
bowl of shreddies
slice of marmite toast
milk
more milk

snack on school run :
rice cakes,
raisins

lunch :
cheese and marmite sandwich (1 slice bread)
fromage frais
red grapes
small apple peeled and sliced
more milk!

afternoon snacks:
banana
fruit bar

dinner:
chicken and veg wrap, (he didn't eat the wrap, just the filling)
home made wedges
salad

pudding;
choc buttons

then more milk
TBH he has probably had more than that, I am probably forgetting something. He is not even that chubby, nowhere near overweight. His sisters are the same, beanpoles who eat all day, like thier dad. Not fair on me!

thank you for your reassurances. seems like she's ok then.

the tofu and carrot burgers are from Jennie Maizel's book called something ike finger foods for babies and toddlers, it was recommended to me when i was doing blw - cant lay it to hand right now but basically, tofu, grated carrot, spring onions, garlic, soy sauce and bread crumbs, bound with an egg and grilled. they are delicious and one of the few things i can make as i'm a crap cook!
