Duck, asparagus and...

I'm having duck and asparagus tonight. What should I serve with it?

I was thinking of roasting potatoes with garlic cloves and rosemary, but as I've made a garlic and herb rub for the duck breast perhaps that'd be a little too much garlic, if such a thing is possible.

Any ideas would be much appreciated.

cous cous
potatoes dauphanoise

Oh I love dauphinoise potatoes. I could eat them for dinner and nothing else, and be content.

It does mean more garlic but I'm not convinced that's a bad thing.

steamed new potatoes. quite enough fat going on with duck no need for more.

These all sound good. This is going to be tough.

I would do just plain boiled organic new potatoes (the tiny ones) .Keep it simple with the strong flavour of the duck and asparagus.

I would get Jersey Royal potatoes, if possible, boil them in their skins with a sprig of mint and serve with butter.

Thankyou all for the suggestions.

I ended up having it with potatoes sauteed in the duck fat and sprinkled with sea salt, pepper and rosemary. And asparagus that was roasted with balsamic vinegar, olive oil and lemon juice.

It was so good.
I have a few more breasts in the freezer so I'll try all of these ideas.
