I've just taken some out of the freezer, so it's for tomorrow. Any ideas where I can just chuck it in a slow cooker with some other stuff? V. lazy.

or go for a curry - sultanas, sliced eating apple, potatoes, curry powder....can't remember the recipe, sorry, but that's the gist of it!

Actually, I was rather fancying a curry, would I get away with coconunt milk in a slow cooker or would it burn?

adds ground coriander, cumin and garam masala, along with ground almonds

Er, coconut, dunno where that n came from.

coconunt sounds far more exotic!
I wouldn't risk it in a slow cooker myself - unless anyone else on MN knows differently, I would think it might catch and burn....you could come home to a hideous smell!

would think that any curry recipe that simmers for ages would be ok - you could always add your coconut milk in last thing a few mins before you serve it?
making me hungry! It's too late at night to be considering curry! Bah!

Cheers for that again, FrankMustard, I think you may be right about adding it nearer the end. I'll let you know how it goes.

yes, do! I'm just sorry that you didn't have any other posts with tasty suggestions! I'm not very inspirational this evening!
Hope it works out well.

I am sad to report an Almost Total Disaster.

Due to unexpected changes to my planned schedule, I was unable to prepare early enough for the slow-cooker, so I browned the turkey and bunged it in a casserole dish with carrots, parnsnip and sweet potato, added some ground spices and topped the lot off with a can of Campbell's condensed chicken soup, plus half a can of water. I put it in a low oven at the back of three, and apparently it was OK at about 5.30pm, when DS1 had some.

However, the unexpected changes etc included DH and I being out of the house till after 8pm, by which time it looked like, well, lightly-charred sludge, tbh. We had a plate of chips each, the dogs will no doubt enjoy the sludge tonight.

Onwards and upwards.
