Cashew Nut loving toddler

DS (2.8) has developed a passion for cashews, but I'm worried about them being a choking hazard. What do you think? He only had them the first time as a friend gave them as a snack to her 20(ish) month olds and I didn;'t want to seem like a hysterical paranoiac.

We're non-meat eaters, so in some ways I'd love for him to be getting all that nutty nutrition.

Do you think I should chop them up a bit? Or would the "sharp" corners just make them more likely to get stuck?

My DD3-2.7 eats all sort of nuts.
I haven't worried about choking for a long time now.
Not sure when you are supposed to let them begin.

DD developed a passion for nuts at about that age, she's now 6.2 and still loves them. Didn't have a problem with choking but if you are worried just make sure he has them when you are around.

cashews are softer than other nuts, so a better option.
my kids loved cashews and still do

Yeah...he's not keen on cashew nut butter. I think he just revels in my barely disguised panic as he munches on them.
