what do you mean, exactly, by posh?

Kathyis6incheshigh · 06/05/2009 17:18

roasted butternut squash with (blue) cheese and walnuts/pecans

or: gratin dauphinoise with cheese on top

Overmydeadbody · 06/05/2009 17:22

come on... I want to know!

I can't advise you on what type of meals to cook unless I know what exactly you are looking for!

mollyroger · 06/05/2009 17:22

Overmydeadbody · 06/05/2009 17:25

mollyroger · 06/05/2009 17:26

hope your cooking is better than your spelling...

Overmydeadbody · 06/05/2009 17:28

It is, I promise!

Jux · 06/05/2009 17:34

Stuffed red peppers.

Something I don't know the name of but had in Sicily, using aubergine, courgettes, mozzarella and egg. If you're interested I'll tell you more.

mollyroger · 06/05/2009 17:34

where has biscuitstuffer gone?

Mind you, if she is in the habit of serving up stuffed biscuits, she's going to need all the help she can get!

DorisIsAPinkDragon · 06/05/2009 17:59

Vegetable Jalouise lookes impressive but is realtively simple (i.e. i can manage it)

Overmydeadbody · 06/05/2009 18:30

lol molly

Yes, where has she gone?

I have a recipe for lovely pancakes stuffed with spinach and cooked with a cheese sauce

BillSilverFoxBuchanan · 06/05/2009 18:31

I really fancy mushroom en croute now...

Sorry everyone - I've been out drinking rose with a friend and now I'm too plastered to post sensibly!

By posh I mean up from bolognaise but down from something with hollandaise sauce and blanched something or others with a jus of doo da.....

Did that make any sense at all??

roasted vegetable tart (use bought puff pastry for speed)
caramelised onion tart
goats cheese tart
-any sort of savoury tart which you can "posh" up with fancy green herby salad!
(Prob go with the chicken option more than the beef)
Or a nice risotto -although that admittedly can't be made in advance but you could START it ahead of time.....

FlappytheBat · 08/05/2009 00:41

_Starter-
Filo Parcels with Spinach and Feta

_Main-
ButterNut Squash Risotto
Stuffed Courgettes with Goats Cheese
anything with asparagus - english should be in season about now

Desert
Rhubarb Crumble - again should be just about in season, might not sound posh but when served with my homemade custard, can't beat it!!

FlappytheBat · 08/05/2009 00:42

oops, just read OP properly, well you never know, someone just might want rhubarb crumble as a main
